New Roots 03:32
All the leaves have fallen The sidewalk is orange and brown Tree rot can’t hide Dead wood dropping to the ground And we’re left tripping over their roots Anchored to difference with little proof They grew here and yielded such bitter fruit It’s time for the truth You reap what you sow thorn or blossom Bigotry and hate Only grow where its tended Leaving us tripping over their roots Keeping us separate with little proof growing here and yielding such bitter fruit It’s time for the truth Now that sun is setting New heartwood is forming For underneath the surface our blood runs the same Time to set down new roots Anchored to peace and justice Spring in the orchard will bring sweeter fruit Shining with truth Time to set down new roots Anchored to peace and justice Spring in the orchard will bring sweeter fruit Shining with truth Shining with truth

Twin Lakes 03:25
The Indian place is now Italian The old candy store turned into a cafe So interesting how some things change While others remain the same Like I always split things in two one for me one for you Brother Was that ever true for you? Brother, brother are you out there? On the corner or just around the bend my first enemy my closest friend Are you tilting at windmills? Or maybe up in the crow’s nest? still carrying that lance Or have you given it a rest? Brother brother are you out there? On the water just beyond the shore Shooting the breeze Or still keeping score At Twin Lakes the waves are breaking Storm is coming there’s no mistaking Two benches face different directions So many points of view Like I’m looking up at the gulls flying by Brother oh brother I can’t help but cry Brother, brother are you out there? On the corner or just around the bend my first enemy my closest friend Brother, brother where are you now Hoeing a row or pushing the plough Brother oh brother What’s it all mean anyhow

They’re boarding up Valencia, the ground is under repair It’s easy to just stay bed ull the curtains and hide my head but somehow we’ve still got power ay as well get up and shower Hot water and Dr. Bronner’s retain some sense honor We’re all the same, wild and tame don’t get caught up in the blame Maybe unclench your fist We’re all in this together in a different kind of weather So take care I always wanted to be tall under 6 feet I felt so small now that’s a distance to clear tall and short sharing the same fear Just like I want to belong, live right and live long But we’re all grounded and can’t go out Watching numbers climb and free fall Everybody wants someone To repair what’s come undone Pointing fingers ain’t getting us anywhere we’re all in this together always were into forever so play fair This is our chance to make it better call a friend, help your neighbor speak out when you see wrong cause everyone belongs We’re all the same, wild and tame don’t get caught up in the blame Maybe lend a hand we’re all in this together in a different kind of weather so take care
